Messaging and announcements
Talk to your partners where they already are
An email to a hundred affiliates gets opened by nine of them. A message in the portal lands next to the earnings they came to check.
- Chat inbox and in-portal announcements
- Popups, banners and polls
- Part of the Engage add-on
March sprint starts today
$500 to whoever drives the most revenue by the 31st. Your position updates live on the leaderboard.
Messages
Chat with your affiliates inside Referly
One inbox, with the partner's own numbers open beside the conversation.
One-to-one chats
A thread per affiliate, with their revenue, sales and plan in a panel beside it so you are not guessing who you are talking to.
Group chats
A room bound to an affiliate group, so your creators and your review sites get different conversations.
Asset and bonus embeds
Drop a banner from your library or a performance bonus straight into a message rather than describing where to find it.
Email fallback
An unread message becomes an email, so a partner who does not live in the portal still gets it.
The caveat
In-app chat, with the caveat up front
On the Business and Agency plans, Messages is limited to the account owner. Invited team members need the Engage add-on to use it at all. If your program is run by one person that changes nothing; if you have a partnerships hire, it is the difference between them being able to do their job and not.
| Plan | Who can use Messages |
|---|---|
| Startup | Not available |
| Business | Account owner only |
| Enterprise | Everyone on the team |
| Agency | Account owner only |
| Agency Pro | Everyone on the team |
| Agency Scale | Everyone on the team |
This is not email marketing and does not replace your ESP. There is no bulk email composer: a broadcast here means a group chat room or an in-portal announcement, and your newsletter stays wherever it lives today.
Announcements
Popups, banners and polls in the portal
Three formats, seven positions, and rules about who sees them and how often.
Popup
A modal over the portal, in the centre or any of four corners. For the thing you cannot have them miss.
Banner
A strip at the top or bottom that stays until dismissed. For the thing that is true all month.
Poll
A question with options, shown as a list or numbers, with results you can share back.
Say it to the right partners, at the right moment
Audience rules, triggers, scheduling and frequency caps, so an announcement is not a broadcast to everyone forever.
Audience rules
Filter to the partners who match, combining conditions with AND or OR rather than picking names.
Campaign or automation
Publish it once to everyone who qualifies, or leave it running so it fires whenever someone starts qualifying.
Frequency caps
How many times one partner sees it, and how long between showings, so a popup does not become furniture.
Page rules
Show it everywhere in the portal, or only on the pages where it is relevant.
Countdowns
A deadline on the announcement itself, with the option to disable the button once it passes.
From whom
Sent as the program, or as a named team member, which reads very differently to a partner.
The published cap
Business and Agency plans can have 4 included at once, and the cap is enforced when you publish rather than hidden in the interface. The Engage add-on removes it.
Group chats are bound to affiliate groups, so they need groups to exist. Groups start on the Business plan, which makes group chat a two-part dependency rather than a single switch.
Knowing it worked
Sent is not the same as read
Deliveries, views, clicks and dismissals per announcement, and poll results you can act on.
Every announcement carries its own counts: how many partners it reached, how many saw it, how many clicked the button and how many dismissed it. Email opens and clicks are tracked across all 24 transactional email types separately, and portal visits are recorded whether or not anyone answers you.
“The team answers in what feels like a tenth of a second. Amazing product, saved us a boatload of money. 10/10, no bugs.”
Tomer LeviFounder, Mailin
“The team is very proactive in developing it and adding new features. But the customer support? Outstanding. I love the openness and the willingness to help even with little things.”
HilmeeFounder“I spend all day testing out sign up flows and campaigns. I have tried most affiliate platforms out there, but very few are as easy and powerful as Referly. Quick setup and accurate tracking.”
