Imports
ProcessingCompletedReferly imports directly from FirstPromoter. Take your API key and Account ID from Settings, run the importer, and affiliates arrive with their codes, rates and join dates. Two things need rebuilding by hand: your commission plans, and your affiliate email automation. Run both tools for a few days, then switch. Migration is free on every plan.
Before you start
The losses are listed first on purpose. One of them is a feature you probably chose FirstPromoter for.
Affiliate email automation
FirstPromoter's built-in sequences are the feature their customers name most often, and there is no importing them. Referly has announcements, email notifications and integrations with MailerLite, Klaviyo, Brevo and Mailchimp, which is a different shape. Plan to rebuild, not to migrate.
Commission plans and campaign rules
Readable in FirstPromoter, but there is nothing to import them into. On Starter you are capped at three campaigns anyway, so most programs arriving here are rebuilding two or three things, not twenty.
The historic click log
Not importable from any tool. Click-through and conversion-rate charts start on cutover day.
Portal customisation and custom CSS
Rebuilt. Referly's portal takes branding, custom CSS and a custom domain, but none of it transfers.
Affiliates and their details
Names, emails, payout emails, status and countries, over the API.
Referral codes and links
The code survives the move. What changes is the domain it points at.
Per-affiliate commission rates
Individual rates arrive as per-affiliate overrides rather than flattening to one program rate.
Customers, sales and commissions
With their original dates, so the history you built on FirstPromoter is still the history you report on.
Paid payouts
Sales you import can carry their paid status, so nobody is paid twice. The payout records themselves stay behind.
Unpaid commissions
Import them marked unpaid and pay from Referly, or pay them out of FirstPromoter first.
No importer in this category carries commission plans, including ours. On this migration there is a second thing on that list, and it is better to know now than in week two.
Step 1
FirstPromoter needs two values rather than one, which is why Referly's setup screen asks for two fields. Both sit in the same panel.
FirstPromoter also offers to run the migration for you off a CSV, and quotes 24 to 48 hours for it. That is a good offer. The API route is here because it is faster and you can run it yourself, not because theirs is bad.

How Referly authenticates
Bearer token plus an ACCOUNT-ID header. FirstPromoter needs both, which is why Referly's setup screen asks for two fields rather than one.

The thing you are rebuilding
FirstPromoter's affiliate email automation is good, and this is not a claim to have matched it. What Referly gives you is announcements that land in the portal and in the inbox, targeted at a segment rather than everyone, with open rates on the other side, plus native connections to MailerLite, Klaviyo, Brevo and Mailchimp for anything that needs a real sequence. During a migration the first of those matters most: one announcement, to the imported affiliates, with their new link in it.
A custom email sending domain is on Business and above. On Startup announcements still send, from Referly's domain.
The migration
Two hours of work, then a week of watching two dashboards agree with each other.

Referral codes
FirstPromoter puts the affiliate's code in ?fpr=, and both ?fpr= and ?fp_ref= are already in the list of parameters Referly's tracking script reads. So during the overlap, a FirstPromoter-shaped link landing on your site resolves to the right affiliate without anyone republishing anything. That is a grace period, not a permanent fix: links pointing at FirstPromoter's own domain stop working the day you switch it off.
?fpr= is already in the tracker

Referly's tracking script reads
FirstPromoter's own ?fpr= parameter is one of them, so a FirstPromoter-shaped link landing on your site still resolves to the right affiliate.
Connected integrations
One programInstall Referly on your store
Referly will read orders, discount codes and refunds so it can attribute sales and reverse commissions automatically.
Both sides, one program. A SaaS subscription in Stripe and a store order in Shopify pay the same affiliate, from the same commission plan, into the same payout.
If you have added a store
Stripe, Chargebee and Paddle, and that is the list. For a pure SaaS program it is a fine list. For anyone who has added a store, or is about to, it is the reason this page exists. Referly tracks subscriptions and store orders on one program, so the same affiliate is paid from both without running two tools and reconciling them by hand.
Customer stories
The founders and affiliate managers behind three fast-growing programs, in their own words.
“Affiliates drive a serious share of our revenue across three countries. Since we moved to Referly everything runs from one place, tracking has been spot on, and our partners get paid without me chasing spreadsheets.”

“We have been running affiliate programs for over a decade, and ours is one of the biggest parts of how OptimizePress grows. Referly is the first platform where an operation with thousands of partners actually feels manageable, from recruiting new affiliates to tracking every sale they send.”

Plan your move
FirstPromoter and Referly both meter on affiliate revenue, so the honest comparison is not the sticker price but where your program hits the next tier. Move the slider to your own number.

FirstPromoter
Business
The dashed line is your revenue crossing each ladder. At $8,000/mo, Referly bills $75 and FirstPromoter bills $99.
Last step
Pull a CSV of affiliates, referrals, commissions and payout history out of FirstPromoter and keep it somewhere durable. Data access usually closes at cancellation, and the copy costs you nothing.
Cancel from your FirstPromoter billing settings once the overlap is finished and the two dashboards agree on attributed sales. Not before: while FirstPromoter is running, links your affiliates posted months ago still resolve.
Worth saying plainly, because it is true and this page has nothing to gain by hiding it: FirstPromoter will run the migration for you off a CSV, and quotes 24 to 48 hours for it. If you would rather hand it over than do it yourself, that is a real option and a good offer.
Migration help
Direct import or CSV, Startup or Enterprise, moving costs nothing. Bring your export, a list of the campaigns and sequences you need rebuilt, and a cutover date, and we will plan it with you.
Managed, done-for-you migration is part of Enterprise and the agency plans rather than every tier. For context: Trackdesk includes migration and implementation assistance from its Business plan, at $329 a month.
