On WooCommerce, the Referly WordPress plugin does the work: it adds the tracking script to every page and sends your orders, refunds and conversions to Referly Atlas from your server. The wizard step is titled Connect WooCommerce and sums it up: install the plugin, paste your Atlas token, then verify. If you already use the plugin for your affiliate program, you keep it and update it. Atlas needs version 2.1.0 or later.

Before you start

You will need:
  • Admin access to your WordPress site, to upload and activate a plugin.
  • The Referly plugin at version 2.1.0 or later. The block’s subtitle asks the question: already use it for your affiliate program? Update it to version 2.1.0 or later.
  • An Atlas store set up to step 2 of the wizard. On Step 1: Your website, enter your site address and pick the WooCommerce tile.
The seven platform tiles of the Add a store wizard The plugin’s general setup, including its affiliate features, is covered in the WooCommerce integration and WordPress guides. This page covers only the Atlas part.

Step 1: Install the plugin

The first block is Install the Referly plugin on WordPress. Connect WooCommerce step with Install the Referly plugin, Paste your Atlas token and Verify the connection
  1. Select Download plugin to get the plugin zip file.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, and upload the zip.
  3. Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu.
If the plugin is already installed, upload the new zip the same way; WordPress replaces the old version and keeps your settings. Select Mark as completed when it is active. Atlas ticks the block on its own once it hears from the plugin.

Step 2: Paste your Atlas token

The second block, Paste your Atlas token in WordPress, shows an Atlas token that is shown once. Copy it before you leave this step.
  1. Select Generate token to reveal the token, then copy it.
  2. In WordPress, open Referly in the admin menu.
  3. Paste the token in the Atlas card and click Verify and Save.
Verify and Save sends a first heartbeat to Atlas, which is what ticks the block and the verification below. The token is what lets the plugin send orders and conversions to this store and no other, so one token belongs to one store. Lost it? Open Store settings, go to Tracking and connection and use the API token row. Regenerate gives you a new token (again shown once) and stops the old one working, so paste the new one into WordPress straight away. Tokens start with atl_ and Atlas shows the last four characters of the one in use. Tracking and connection section with the connection status tiles, the Test connection button and the API token row

Step 3: Verify

The last block, Verify the connection, checks your site for the script. Your site address is prefilled from Step 1 of the wizard; select Verify. Verify the connection block with the site address, the Verify button and the result No events yet. Visit your site, then verify again. Under the address, a second line reports events: No events yet. Visit your site, then verify again. until a page view has arrived, then Events received with the time of the last one. Open your site in another tab, browse a product page, and verify again. Select Continue to the ad platforms step and Finish. The toast Store is live. Tracking is on. means the store is live and sending (with an active plan; without one it waits). The same checks are available later under Test connection.

Caching plugins

If you use a caching plugin (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache and the like) or a host with page caching, clear its cache so the script loads on every page. The wizard reminds you of this under the token block, and it matters twice:
  • After activating or updating the plugin, cached pages still carry the old HTML without the script, so Verify reports Not found yet even though everything is set up.
  • After pasting the token, the script tag changes to include your store, and a cached copy would keep serving the old one.
Clear the whole cache, load your homepage once, then select Verify again. Orders are not affected by caching: the plugin sends them from your server, not from the page.

What the plugin sends, by version

The plugin sends your orders and conversions to Atlas from your server, so they arrive even when a visitor’s browser blocks tracking. What it sends grew with each version: Update to the latest version to get everything. The version you run is visible on the Plugins page in WordPress. For what each event means and where it goes, see Events and Conversions.
Orders arrive with every status change, so a refund or a cancellation after the sale is netted off in your reports and your pixels get the update. You do not need to do anything in Atlas when an order changes.

Troubleshooting

Your plugin is older than 2.1.0. Select Download plugin in the wizard and upload the zip over the old version.
The token was copied incompletely, or it has been regenerated since. Go to Store settings, Tracking and connection, select Regenerate on the API token row and paste the new token.
Almost always a cache. Clear it, load your homepage, verify again. If you use a plugin that moves scripts or delays them, exclude the Referly script from it.
The token in WordPress belongs to another store, or Verify and Save was never clicked. Paste this store’s token and save. If orders are tests placed while Test mode is on in Store settings, they show in Live activity as Test and stay out of reporting.
Check the version table above: sign ups and form leads need 2.2.0, trials and subscriptions need 2.3.3. Leads are only recorded from Contact Form 7 and WPForms.
