Sharetribe Affiliate Program Integration

Sharetribe captures it for you. Its built-in Referral sources feature stores an affiliate link's ?ref parameter when a visitor lands on any page, remembers it in the browser for 90 days, and saves the referrer on the account at signup — first touch, no typing, no code. You switch it on once per user type in Console, and Referly reads the captured referrer straight from the marketplace's own API. Self-hosted templates can also run the tracking script for click-level analytics on top.

Not unless you turn on Referly short links or run a custom-coded site. A Sharetribe-hosted marketplace can't run a tracking script, so a visitor who clicks an affiliate link goes straight to your marketplace and Referly never sees that visit — referrals and sales are still tracked, but clicks and click-through rates are not. Switch on automated short links to get them: affiliates share a Referly link that records the click and forwards to your marketplace carrying the same referral parameter, so attribution works exactly as before. Self-hosted templates can run the tracking script instead.

Within about a minute. Sharetribe has no webhooks, so Referly polls your marketplace's Integration API roughly once a minute for new signups, transactions and cancellations. Purchases are recorded when payment is confirmed, bookings when they are accepted.

The commission is clawed back automatically — cancellations, declines and payment expiries all reverse it. Sharetribe's Stripe integration only issues full refunds, so the reversal is always the whole commission.

Yes. A per-program setting chooses whether commissions are calculated on what the customer paid or on your take alone — the customer payment minus the provider payout. Most programs use the order total; the fee base suits marketplaces that pay partners out of their own commission.

Yes. The default purchase and booking processes are recognised out of the box, and if your process uses its own transition names you list them once in the connect dialog — extra sale transitions and extra refund transitions — and Referly treats them accordingly. A transaction whose totals get zeroed is also caught as a refund automatically.

Yes. Every Sharetribe environment has its own Integration API credentials, so connect the Test environment's Client ID and Secret, tick the test-environment box, and run a full signup and purchase before switching to your Live credentials.
