Affiliate tracker fix

You can now trust that referral attribution works reliably on Shopify checkouts.

We fixed a bug in the affiliate tracker script that could drop referral attribution in certain checkout scenarios. The failure mode was the worst kind: silent. The affiliate sent real traffic, the customer really bought, and the sale simply didn't credit — which reads to a partner like your program can't be trusted, and reads to you like the affiliate underperformed. Neither was true.

The tracker now correctly captures visits and attributes conversions through to your affiliates:

  • Visits are captured consistently across checkout flows.
  • Conversions attribute to the right referral source.
  • No changes needed on your end if the tracker is already installed — the fix is live for everyone.

If you'd fielded complaints from affiliates about missing referrals on Shopify orders, this was the likely cause; attribution from here forward is captured correctly.

You can confirm the tracker is in place on your Integrations page.
