# Open Atlas and create your account

> How to open Referly Atlas from your affiliate dashboard or create a new Atlas account, then walk through the four onboarding steps: business type, website, first store and free trial.

Referly Atlas lives next to your affiliate program in the same Referly account. If you already use Referly, you switch into Atlas from the dashboard you know. If you are new, you create an account on the Atlas sign-up page. Either way, the first time you open Atlas it walks you through a short setup: what you sell, your website, your first store and, if you do not have a plan yet, your free trial.

This page covers both ways in and each onboarding step. When you reach the store wizard, continue with [Add a store](/docs/help-center/atlas/setup.md).

## Open Atlas from Referly

Atlas and your affiliate program share one login. In your Referly dashboard, open the program switcher or your profile menu and look for the **Switch apps** section. Choose **Referly Atlas** (labelled **Ad tracking software**).

Two things to know:

* If your account has no Atlas business yet, Atlas opens its onboarding straight away. Follow the steps below.
* If you are a team member of a Referly account rather than its owner or an admin, Atlas shows **Ask your account owner to set up Atlas** with the owner's name and email instead of the setup. Only the account owner or an admin can create a business.

The same **Switch apps** row appears inside Atlas, in your user menu, and takes you back to your affiliate program (**Referly**, **Affiliate tracking software**).

> [!NOTE]
>
> The **Switch apps** row is hidden when you are signed in to an agency workspace. Open Atlas from the account that owns the program instead.

## Create a new Atlas account

If you do not have a Referly account, go to the Atlas sign-up page at `https://www.referly.so/sign-up?product=atlas`. The page is titled **Create your Referly Atlas account** and promises what the product does: set up in under 5 minutes, every order matched to the ad behind it.

![Create your Referly Atlas account page with Continue with Google, the email field and the Sign Up button](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--sign-up.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=df030607c8415e34cc8aab0bc1f5d1ba)

Choose **Continue with Google**, or enter your email and select **Sign Up**. Once your email is verified, Atlas opens its onboarding.

To come back later, use the sign-in page titled **Login to your Referly Atlas account**. It has the same **Continue with Google** button, email and password fields, and a **Sign up** link if you landed there by mistake.

> [!TIP]
>
> One account, both products. The account you create here can run an affiliate program too, and an active Referly plan gives you 20% off Atlas. See [Billing](/docs/help-center/atlas/settings/billing.md).

## Step 1: What do you sell?

The first screen asks **What do you sell?** Pick the card that fits best:

| Business type | Pick it when |
| - | - |
| **Ecommerce store** | You sell physical or digital goods through a cart and checkout. |
| **SaaS or software** | People sign up, start trials and subscribe. |
| **Courses and digital products** | You sell courses, downloads or memberships. |
| **Marketplace** | Buyers and sellers meet on your platform. |
| **Agency** | You run ads for clients. |
| **Something else** | None of the above. |

![First-run onboarding, Step 1 of 4: What do you sell, with Ecommerce store selected and the category chips below](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--onboarding-step-1.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=041b7d9f0f7f3796b3b1201ff8fd05e1)

After you pick a type, a second question appears: **Which category fits best?** Choose the closest chip. The category is optional detail; the business type is what matters, because it decides which events Atlas sends to your ad platforms by default:

| Business type | Default events |
| - | - |
| Ecommerce store | Page views, product views, adds to cart, checkouts started, purchases |
| SaaS or software | Page views, leads, sign ups, trials started, subscriptions |
| Courses and digital products | Page views, product views, leads, checkouts started, purchases |
| Marketplace, Agency, Something else | Page views, product views, leads, sign ups, purchases |

You can change the events for each pixel later. See [Events](/docs/help-center/atlas/events.md).

![Step 1 with SaaS or software selected and the Which category fits best chips, Marketing & Sales chosen](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--step-1-category.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=5c7b46ff9fd0c0740e4306a27d44925f)

## Step 2: Your business

Next, Atlas asks about **Your business**:

* **Website URL**: the address of the site you want to track. Atlas reads the site and fills in the name and logo for you when it can.
* **Business Name**: how the business appears in the business switcher and on your reports. Edit it if the automatic name is wrong.
* **Business Logo**: optional. Upload an image up to 1MB, or use **Change** and **Remove** on the one Atlas found.

![Step 2 of the business setup with the Website URL field filled in and the Back and Continue buttons](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--step-2.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=2c096fb804e93c9f442197c14c89c7b9)

Select **Continue** when the name and site are right.

![Step 2 with the Website URL, the Business Name filled in automatically and the Business Logo with Change and Remove buttons](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--step-2-name-logo.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=41f7f68382f3f85581c89812bff509d4)

## Step 3: Connect your store

The third screen, **Connect your store**, shows the business you created and explains what connecting does:

* **Connect your store or app**: Shopify, WooCommerce, Stripe, Paddle and more. Or add the tracking script to any site.
* **Connect your ad accounts**: Meta, Google, TikTok and more. Atlas sends each event to the ad platforms you connect.

Below them, the **What Atlas sends by default** box lists the events for your business type (for an ecommerce store: product views, add to carts, checkouts started and purchases). The note underneath says it all: you choose the events for each ad platform later.

![Onboarding Step 3 of 4, Connect your store, for an ecommerce business with the default events Product views, Add to carts, Checkouts started and Purchases](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--onboarding-step-3.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=e0f99d2e29c190e0ea8a49643f9ceb43)

You have two choices at the bottom:

* **Connect your store** opens the [Add a store wizard](/docs/help-center/atlas/setup.md), which detects your platform and walks you through Shopify, WooCommerce or the tracking script.
* **Skip for now** still creates your first store, unconnected, and moves on. The store stays in **Draft** until you finish its setup from the **All stores** page.

If you arrived from the Shopify App Store with an install already started, the main button reads **Connect** followed by your shop's name and finishes that install. **Use another connection** opens the wizard instead.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If your plan has no room for another store, this screen shows a message with an upgrade button in place of **Connect your store**, and **Do this later** leaves the business without a store. Store limits per plan are on the [Billing](/docs/help-center/atlas/settings/billing.md) page.

## Step 4: Start your free trial

The last screen appears only when your account has no Atlas plan. It is titled **Start your free trial** and shows your business with a **Not tracking yet** label: nothing is sent to your ad platforms until a plan is active.

Pick **Starter**, **Growth** or **Scale** and select **Start 14-day free trial**. The trial runs for 14 days on a monthly plan, once per account, and you pay nothing if you cancel before it ends. A yearly plan is charged today instead. If you hold an active Referly plan, a **Referly plan holder: 20% off** badge shows the bundle discount.

![Onboarding Step 4 of 4, Start your free trial, with the business card marked Not tracking yet, the Referly plan holder 20% off badge and the Starter, Growth and Scale plan cards with Start 14-day free trial buttons](https://mintcdn.com/pushlapgrowth/oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y/images/atlas/getting-started/create-your-account--step-4-start-your-free-trial.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=oT87nrz5crwfmm9Y\&q=85\&s=841da0f3919b1c5dac3fd32bea512b43)

Checkout happens on Stripe. When you come back, Atlas greets you with **You're in** and a reminder of what to expect: first events usually show within 15 to 30 minutes, and full coverage within 24 to 48 hours.

Plan limits, prices and what happens at the end of a trial are on the [Billing](/docs/help-center/atlas/settings/billing.md) page. Until a plan is active, a store that finishes its wizard waits instead of going live, and the setup checklist asks you to choose a plan first.

## If you were invited to a business

Someone can add you to their Atlas business as an admin or a member. You get an email titled with the inviter's name and the business, for example "Maya invited you to Northwind Outfitters on Referly Atlas", with a link to a **Team invitation** page.

1. Open the link. The page says who invited you and to which business, and names the email address the invitation was sent to.
2. Choose **Create account** if you are new to Referly, or **Sign in** if you already have an account. The email you sign in with must match the one on the invitation.
3. Select **Accept invitation** (or **Decline**).

Invitations last 7 days. If yours has expired, ask the inviter to use **Resend invitation** on their **Team** page. Admins can open every store, store settings, billing and the team; members see only the stores picked for them. Roles are explained on the [Team](/docs/help-center/atlas/settings/team.md) page.
